Evan Glass - Question 1

Question 1: The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments projects that Montgomery County’s population will increase by 200,000 over the next 30 years. How should the county prepare for future growth?

Transcript: We all know that Montgomery County and the entire D.C. region is an incredibly expensive place to live. It's not only expensive for people who currently live here, but it is going to be cost prohibitive for our kids and our grandkids to move into our community. And we need to do something about it. We need to build more affordable housing and in order to build more affordable housing, we have to build housing. It's that simple. One third of Montgomery County residents are foreign born. Not only are we not building walls around Montgomery County, but we are welcoming people from all across the world to move here to make this their home, to work here, to live here, and to play here. And that's what we need to continue doing if we're going to be a thriving community, a biotech leader, not only in the nation and the world, and in order to do that, we need more places for more people to live.
