Webinar: The Problem with Parking Mandates

The problem with parking mandates: what does Montgomery County have to gain from reform?
Monday, August 28 @ 6pm (Zoom)

Join CSG and Montgomery for All on Monday, August 28 to learn about the environmental and economic costs of parking mandates, and the transformative potential of parking reform.

Minimum parking mandates are a legacy of car-centric design. These mandates require us to prioritize space for vehicle parking over other uses like parks, retail, or housing—even in walkable, transit-connected neighborhoods. They encourage car trips over more sustainable modes of transportation, and restrain housing affordability by raising building costs.

As cities nationwide reap major benefits from reducing and eliminating parking mandates—from increased housing production to revitalized downtown businesses—it’s time to talk about what Montgomery County has to gain from parking reform.

Register here to join us for this important and timely conversation!
